I grew up in a family that spent most of their time growing, planning, preparing, and preserving whole food. A French-trained Red Seal Chef and Restaurateur, my father was always sharing his skills and wisdom with me in our kitchen at home and in his commercial kitchens.
30 years ago, I was diagnosed with a digestive disorder and had to learn how to heal my bowel, and strengthen my immune system, using specific foods.
For years I experimented with, and followed, many alternative diets until I discovered my unique tolerances and nutritional needs. During that time, I also studied nutrition sciences and behavioural psychology and became a Registered Holistic Nutrition Counsellor so that I could help others learn to heal with specific foods, herbs, supplements, and lifestyle practices.
